This money will be managed by the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense, which will act as a buyer before the Turkish government and the company Baykar, maker of the Bayraktar TB2.

The campaign was started by Laisves TV, a local television station, and was quickly joined by the Lithuanian Defense Minister and other government officials, Aviacionline.
Ukraine purchased, at least until the beginning of the conflict, more than thirty Turkish Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial systems, which have had a relevant performance against Russian forces since the beginning of the conflict, including the first air-naval victories of this type of platform in the world. .
Given the good results of this very peculiar crowdfunding campaign, it is likely that several replicas will emerge in the near future, to continue buying weapons for Ukraine.
Something similar to this assistance model had already been proposed by the Ukrainian Air Force in its #Buymeafighterjet initiative, in order to seek the help of the world’s millionaires in the purchase of combat aircraft, available on the market.
