A severe storm damaged about nine military helicopters at the US Navy’s Naval Air Station Norfolk last Tuesday (26). Despite the damage, no one was injured. Images of MH-53 Sea Dragon and MH-60 Seahawk/Knighthawk helicopters are circulating on social media in the courtyard of the naval base. The force of the winds was enough to “knock down” three MH-60s and one MH-53E, the latter being one of the largest and heaviest helicopters in the US fleet. https://twitter.com/clemente3000/status/1552513049386426368?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1552513049386426368%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.aeroflap.com.br%2Ftempestade-tomba-helicopteros-em-base-da-marinha-dos-eua%2F According to information from the local channel WAVY , the damage ranges from broken rotor blades to punctures and dents in the fuselage. “The Navy continues…
Although the Russian armed forces had already left the Gostomel airport, northwest of Kiev, a few months ago, the current scenario is still desolate. With much of its structure affected and emblematic aircraft destroyed, the place remains as a symbol of the ills brought by the war. To show how the airport currently stands, which is also the main operational headquarters of Antonov Airlines, the team from the Czech website Fly Rosta toured the facility inside and out, resulting in a detailed video posted on their social media (available at the end of this post ). Among other things, the area where the Antonov AN-225…

Ryanair reported that it achieved the best month in its history in terms of number of passengers carried, with a total of 15.9 million travelers and an average aircraft load factor of 95%. This represents an increase of 203% compared to the same month of the previous year, still in the midst of critical moments of the pandemic. The airline, Europe’s biggest by passenger numbers (but not by fleet, behind Lufthansa), said it operated more than 88,500 flights in June. The day has come for which ITA Airways – or rather, the Italian government – was looking forward to, as the deadline for submitting binding offers from companies interested in taking over the successor of Alitalia ended at midnight on July 6 , reports the Aviationline . A lot has happened since Alitalia closed its doors and the brand new ITA continued the business, in October of last year, still in the midst of a scenario complicated by the company’s pressing economic reality, the pandemic and, later, the war in Ukraine and the soaring price of fuel. A big challenge for sure. The offers The…
Fights between passengers or customers with flight attendants have become increasingly frequent, but a pilot from the largest European low-cost airline said he has an ace up his sleeve for these situations. While part of the confusion has been recorded during boarding or disembarkation, another happens during flights. Throughout the pandemic, the mandatory use of the mask stood out as one of the main generators of conflicts, but not the only one. For all these in-flight situations, a Ryanair pilot revealed to the British newspaper Mirror that he has a virtually foolproof solution: artificial turbulence. The pilot says that cases of problems on board are more…
A diplomatic flight from Russia had its duration increased by three times after several detours. Western sanctions on Russia have caused companies in the country to stop most of their international flights, limiting it only to Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and other Moscow-aligned or neutral countries. The same is true for official, humanitarian or diplomatic flights, although exceptions have been made, as was the case with a flight to the US, which was under constant surveillance. It was in this context that a flight from Rossiya, one of Russia’s state-owned airlines, took off from Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport to Basel, on…
